A few months ago, I started promoting #MonthlyDonorMonday.
All I ask of you is to focus one half hour every Monday on your monthly donor program. Of course, you’re totally welcome to do more, but if nothing else, start with half an hour.
You can read a MonthlyDonorMonday tip. You can test your web site. You can see what other organizations are doing. You can create a monthly donor page. You can start working on a monthly donor plan. You can take a closer look at those many small donors you have in your database. You can create a monthly donor email.
It’s up to you how far you’ll take it and what you do, as long as you do something! Because you want to grow your program, right? Put Monthly Donors on your calendar and you’ll be more successful. All it takes is a little bit of focus.
Then, take a little time to ask your donors to give monthly and you’ll be following in the foot steps of those other organizations that are successful and committed to growing their program even more.
#MonthlyDonorMonday ‘forces’ you to look at your monthly donor program and do just one thing to grow it. If you’re really motivated and wish to take over your home page on that day, super. If you’re ready to send out your monthly donor email appeal or direct mail letter, super. You’ve heard me say it before: the more you ask, the more monthly donors you’ll get. Those organizations that really focus are really able to grow their program.

You owe it to your organization and your terrific mission, but especially to the clients, people, animals, patients you serve. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
